Amy Hammant began her professional lactation journey 15 years ago as Clinical and Education Director of the Healthy Start Intensive Teen Unit in Tampa, Florida. After her own experiences breastfeeding her three children, now 23, 16 and 8 years old, and the lack of support she received, she felt compelled to help educate and support other moms in meeting their breastfeeding goals. After many years of clinical experience and working directly with breastfeeding moms, she became an IBCLC in 2008. In 2010 she became Clinical Manager of Lactation of Baby Cafe in Tampa to gain additional experience teaching and helping moms with the natural process of feeding their babies. Since that time she has worked in many roles and partnered with several lactation programs. It has been her long time goal to be a part of a breastfeeding clinic, such as the one at Kennesaw Pediatrics, where families can receive the support they deserve while nourishing their little ones.
