What do doctors do on their time off? Why, go volunteer at a clinic in Kenya, of course!
This week Dr. Winters-Smith is volunteering at a clinic and orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya. Operated by the International Church of God in Christ’s Kenya East Africa Department of Women (KEADW), the Bondo Clinic and Maria Clinic offer life saving medical care to the surrounding communities.
The Bondo Clinic, in Bondo, Kenya, provides health care for children and area residents with non-acute illnesses. Managed by a local team of doctors and nurses, the clinic has multiple exam rooms, lab and specimen testing areas, a large family waiting area, facility restrooms and a garage for ambulance vehicles.
The Maria Clinic has two locations in Nairobi, Kenya. Here, patients can receive care for acute medical needs.
Kennesaw Pediatrics was also excited to be a part of Dr. Winters-Smith’s journey by donating medical supplies, hygiene items and small gifts for the children. Take a look at Dr. WS’s great photos below and check back for more updates!
