As you begin your journey into parenthood, you may have many questions. We are here to help!
Baby Basics Saturday is for families who are in the last months of pregnancy or have a baby up to 8 weeks old. Small class size allows plenty of time for individual questions.
Baby 101 covers all aspects of infant care and is offered from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Breastfeeding 101 is offered from noon to 2:00 pm. You may take both classes or just one. Both are FREE and open to all – you do not have to be a KP patient to attend.
Snacks are provided, but if you plan to take both classes, we recommend you also bring a packed lunch. The lunch break is 30 minutes and there are a limited number of fast food restaurants within short driving distance.
Reserve your spot today! Please register below for each class you plan to take.
In this class, led by a pediatric nurse and experienced mom, you’ll receive concrete advice and reassurance on the subjects you are, or soon will be, experiencing. We cover feeding, stooling, burping, sleeping, crying, diapering, car seats and, last but not least, taking care of yourself.
Led by one of KP’s experienced Board Certified Lactation Consultants, this class will teach you everything you need to know about breastfeeding in a relaxed, comfortable environment. Through engaging videos and hands on activities you’ll learn what to expect the first week, positioning baby to feed, establishing a good milk supply, overcoming common challenges, pumping basics and more.
(Please note: Breastfeeding 101 is not the same as the Breastfeeding Moms Group. This is a one time class for mom and her support person and Dads are welcomed at the class. The Moms Group is a drop in support group for both pregnant and nursing moms to get hands on help and ask individual questions and is only open to moms and babies. If you’re expecting, you may want to attend Breastfeeding 101 and begin attending the Moms Group.)
