Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Nurse Practitioner Carrie moved to Atlanta with her family in July 2017. She earned her BSN at Baker University, then her Masters in Nursing at University of Kansas Medical Center (Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!). Carrie practiced as an inpatient pediatric nurse at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for 10 years, where she also served as chairman of the nursing practice council. Inspired by her grandfather, a family physician, she has known she wanted to work in pediatrics since she was 4 years old. She says, “I like to advocate for kids and make them feel heard. I believe that children are a gift from God, and they deserve the best that we can give them. I also think most parents are doing a great job, and I enjoy being able to reassure them. I can relate to all the modern-day parenting stress and we all could use some encouragement!” Her special interests within pediatrics include allergies and asthma. Carrie is mom to two school aged boys and Maisie, a German Shepherd. In her free time, she stays busy doing yoga, crocheting and learning to play tennis. She’s also active at her church and is Den Mom to her sons’ Cub Scout Pack.
