Led by one of KP’s experienced Board Certified Lactation Consultants, this FREE class will teach you everything you need to know about breastfeeding in a relaxed, comfortable environment. Through engaging videos and hands on activities you’ll learn what to expect the first week, positioning baby to feed, establishing a good milk supply, overcoming common challenges, pumping basics and more. The small group size also allows plenty of time for individual questions. Ideal for pregnant moms and their support person, this class is open to all – you do not have to be KP patient to attend.
(Please note: This is not the same as the Breastfeeding Moms Group. This is a one time prenatal class for mom and her support person. Dads are welcomed at the class. The Moms Group is a support and discussion group for both pregnant and nursing moms. Women and babies only at the Group. If you’re expecting, you may want to attend Breastfeeding 101 and begin attending the Moms Group.)
This class is a part of Baby Basics Saturday. Baby 101 is offered from 10:00 am to 11:30 am and Breastfeeding 101 is offered from noon to 2:00 pm. You may take both classes or just one. Snack are provided, but if you plan to take both classes, we recommend you also bring a packed lunch. The lunch break is 30 minutes and there are a limited number of fast food restaurants within short driving distance
