As Patient Advocate, Shelly Walter fosters communication between our patients, parents and staff with the goal of enhancing the overall patient experience. She monitors wait times, works with front and back office, and assists our parents. Shelly is also available to you to answer questions and communicate any concerns you may have to the appropriate team member, with the goal of providing satisfactory resolution.
Shelly was born and raised in a small town in upstate New York and moved to Georgia in 1998. She brings to her position as KP Patient Advocate 20 years experience in education as both a Teacher and Executive Director. During this time she worked with preschool, Pre-K and special needs children and their families. She also spent four years recruiting for both legal and healthcare firms. Shelly has been married to her wonderful husband since 1984 and has two daughters and one son-in-law. She also has a cat Zoey, who is her princess. Shelly is a huge UGA football fan, so look for her in red and black during game season! The thing Shelly loves most about being the KP Patient Advocate is helping children and their families.
